Camber is renowned for its beautiful beach and back drop of sand dunes, which have been used for scenes in many films and magazine photo shoots. This two and a half mile stretch of golden sands was voted number 9 in The Sunday Times magazine’s 100 best beaches in the world feature. Yet it is less than 2 hours from central London and very easy to access.

The beautiful cinque port of Rye is only a few miles away offering wonderful views of the surrounding countryside as well as enchanting cobbled streets, a medieval church and beautifully preserved historic houses from the medieval, Tudor and Georgian periods.

Camber Castle, built by Henry VIII in the 16th century, Romney Marsh’s Martello Towers, and Pett Level (a 5,000+ year old  submerged forest that can be seen at low tide) are all close to Sea Gem. We even have a 1690 ship wreck named ‘Anne’ just a short journey from Rye.

And of course there’s Dungeness, a desolate landscape with wooden houses, power stations, lighthouses and expansive gravel pits. Surprisingly, it possesses a rich and diverse wildlife within the National Nature Reserve in one of the largest shingle landscapes in the world.
